IRF-FSM Launching
The Institutional and Regulatory Framework for Faecal Sludge Management (#FSM) in Bangladesh have been launched.
This Institutional and Regulatory Framework for Faecal Sludge Management (IRF-FSM) represents a timely and very necessary step by the Local Government Division of the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives, to guide Department of Public Health Engineering (DPHE), Water and Sewerage Authorities
(WASAs), city authorities and Non-Government Organisations to ensure proper treatment and disposal of human excreta. Especially this regulatory framework will be a great guideline to the local government institutions who will be central to this process.
Government of the People’s Republic Of Bangladesh’s #Vision2021 promises universal access to sanitation. Honourable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina envisions Bangladesh as a model for #GlobalGoal6 – ensuring water and sanitation for all. This #IRF_FSM will play a pivotal role in achieving these milestones, and establish Bangladesh as a pioneer and leader in the area of #FSM.
